Senior Software Engineer Ruby (f/m)

for the development of our PPC Advertising management software, which is the core technology of our company.

We offer our software as inhouse services or as SaaS platform to some of the most successful eCommerce companies in Europe. Our infrastructure, which is based on Java and Ruby with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, is supposed to hit massive requirements in terms of high-availability, performance and scalability.

Together with your agile team, you are responsible for technical planning and implementation of features of high quality, working side-by-side with the Product Owner.

Your Responsibilities:

  • As a member of an agile team, you drive the architecture and the development of our crealytics platform forward. You have an impact on the technologies and tools we use
  • You develop new features, test-driven and doing pair-programming with your team mates
  • You optimize algorithms so that our software becomes more effective and calculations with billions of datasets become more efficient

Your Profile:

  • You are familiar with SOA architecture and RESTful Webservices with JSON
  • You have excellent programming skills in Ruby, you are best friends with tools like Sinatra, Resque, Redis or RSpec
  • Java or Scala skills are a big plus
  • You live and breathe Agile Software Development practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration and you love to share this with others
  • You are obsessive about metrics, monitoring, automation and documentation
  • You have worked with relational DBMS like PostgreSQL and NoSQL systems like MongoDB
  • Experience with Linux- / Unix-based system operations is a plus
  • You have excellent analytical skills, experience in PPC Advertising is a plus
  • Experience with Scrum, XP or Kanban is a plus
  • You are fluent in English, German is a plus
